Dawn-Delivered Messages
R. H. Booker
December 7, 2025
There is nothing like these
dew-laden mornings among the
company of such flora and fauna.
The birds here sing in spanish as it
carries more of what can be carried.
A coyote chorus delivers goosebumps.
Between the dry, steep banks I strain my eyes
and fail once more to see the river beneath me.
R. H. Booker graduated from A&M, served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps, and lives outdoors as a wildlife biologist. His poetry has appeared, or forthcoming, in the San Antonio Review, North Dakota Quarterly, Lucky Jefferson, and others.
