Song for America, Gnashing Teeth (2026)

Fernando Esteban Flores’s Song for America is a poetry collection that moves like a current beneath the skin—quiet at times, but always carrying the force of memory and the weight of witness. These poems are built from lived experience, cultural inheritance, and an unwavering ear tuned to the music of resistance.

Fernando Esteban Flores is a native son of Tejas; a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in English/Journalism, and taught writing at several San Antonio secondary schools. He has been widely published and nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize.

Flores had published three books of poetry:  Ragged Borders, Red Accordion Blues, and BloodSongs (one hundred and eleven poems in sonnet form along with 11 paintings by SA artist, Luis Lopez).
